Comptroller DiNapoli released a report in January 2010 that showed that immigrants play an important and growing role in New York City’s economy. This report showed that the broad representation of immigrants in the City workforce – from doctors and nurses to cabbies and construction workers – has fueled considerable gains in household income and homeownership.

A fact sheet on The Role of Small Business in New York State's Economy, released by Comptroller Dinapoli in March 2010, highlights the importance of small businesses and the challenges they face. The fact sheet also highlights programs offered by the Office of the State Comptroller that may be able to assist small businesses.
